Mobile phone : The Futuristic Touchscreen |
F-Origin HaptiTouch Marketing Video
HaptiTouch employs an innovative combination of force sensitive sensors with specialized software to create low-cost, high-performance touchscreens and touchpads made by F-Origin . HaptiTouch can be used to generate virtual touch feedback for touchscreen displays or can replace mechanical keypads to eliminate the need, cost, and failure from mechanical components. HaptiTouch software calculates the location and intensity of pressure using four sensors at each corner of the display overlay. Consequently there is no light attenuation and any material may be used as the final overlay in the assembly. This allows the use of glass and other materials that can be etched, painted or fabricated for special user effects.
The HaptiTouch product interacts with a hard lens and cover that can be designed to be of any shape or color, as well as a multitude of materials. The touch sensitive area may even expand outside of the LCD to include softkeys or a keypad. This design flexibility enables teams to design devices that are not limited by technology. Costs can be reduced by, for example, using one device touchscreen to generate multiple, separate devices that sport different body shapes and unique combinations of touchpads and virtual keyboards.

Tactile and aural feedback make applications and devices more engaging and easier to use while reducing errors. These feedback capabilities are force sensitive allowing - for example - versatile pop-up menus or analog volume control with just a single press. If needed, key application functions can react differently according to the amount or length of force applied. The technology also gives the user the freedom to use a finger, glove, stylus or any other pointing device.
