 Sony Ericsson C905 Sony Ericsson announced a handful of handsets today with the 8 megapixel Sony Ericsson C905 leading the pack. The Wii-like gaming centric F305 follows along with three other lower midrange/low-end handsets - the S302, the K330 and the J132. Equipped with an 8 megapixel camera, it will surely be Sony Ericsson's flagship Cyber-shot handset. Face detection, both a xenon flash and a photo flash, as well as geotagging complete the camera feature set.
Besides that the Sony Ericsson C905 (previously codenamed Shiho) also comes with a built-in accelerometer for screen auto rotation, TV-out port (Sony Ericsson TV-Out Cable ITC-60 is sold separately), and, wait for it… Wi-Fi support. Yes, that's wireless networking on a regular feature phone (non-smartphone). A 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover will serve you as a viewfinder.

The C905 is the latest camera offering from Sony Ericsson featuring a fully spec’d 8.1 mega pixel camera with auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos. It’s got a video stabilizer feature as well. You can geo-tag your photos with the built-in GPS with further support for A-GPS, and the large camera resolution makes it possible to do prints in up to A3 sizes! Your photos will automatically flip to landscape mode, when you tilt your phone, as it’s got a built-in accelerometer. You’ll be able to watch your photos on a beautiful 2.4 inch QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display. Feel like sharing your photos on a TV-set? That’s possible as well with the TV-Out Cable ITC-60, also to be announced on the 17th.
That’s not all, though… C905 will be the first feature phone by Sony Ericsson to sport built-in WiFi with DLNA-support, so all media in your home can be shared. It’s also got the latest in Bluetooth connections, supports USB 2.0 data transfers, and can be synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync.

The Sony Ericsson C905 measures 104 x 49 x 19.5mm, which makes it rather thick as you would notice on the photos. Weighing at 136g, it also offers quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity as well as UMTS and HSDPA support. Stereo Bluetooth (that's A2DP for the nerd group), USB and FM radio with RDS are also on board.
The Sony Ericsson C905 will be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4 2008 with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2. Currently there's no pricing information. The Sony Ericsson TV-Out Cable ITC-60 will be available in Q4 2008.
