Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia |
| Description |
Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia (HLWS) from Hands-On Mobile is the first
part of the Heroes Lore saga. Heroes Lore is a big hit in the South
Korea, Koreans can play also the next parts of the game - Heroes Lore:
Knight of the Frozen Sea and Heroes Lore Zero. The first part: HLWS is
now attacking also the European mobile game charts.
HLWS is a
classical RPG game, very similar to European No.1 RPG game Might and
Magic II. from French developer Gameloft. The game has top-down view;
you see your character and the whole world from above. The graphics is
nice, but it is not the best in the genre. It could be more detailed.
For example, the graphics in Might and Magic II. is better. HLWS has a
big advantage in the diversity of the surroundings. You will travel
through various cities, fight with creatures in different types of
country – in forests, deserts, snowy country etc. It has not sense to
name all the details of the game such as number of cities, quests,
enemies, weapons and potions. I will summarize the game only with one
word: it is huge. Very HUGE!
Word “huge” is the main
characteristic of the game. I will therefore focus my review on the
feelings from the game and not on the naming of all details of the game.
The
game has good graphics but the sounds of the game are even better. I
recognized one big difference between PC games and mobile java games in
the most of the previous mobile games which I played. There was either
the melody or the game sounds in the mobile games, never both of them.
This game is an exception. You will hear various melodies during the
game (they are typical fantasy themes) and you will hear also the
sounds like slashing of the sword simultaneously. The sound of HLWS has
very high quality. It is unambiguously one of the best sounds which I
heard in the java games.
