Elements Interactive B.V. launches a triple edition model of mobile game engine EDGELIB, introducing Lite, Standard and Full editions of its cross-platform technology. "The idea is to bring even more cost-effective versions of EDGELIB to the market," says Elements Interactive CEO Danny Hoffman. "The main goal of providing three different editions and three different pricing tags is to offer feature-specific libraries to fit each developer's need, while also bringing the library to the smallest game development studios.EDGELIB is available in a Lite, Standard and Full edition, each containing more functionality.

The EDGELIB Lite edition contains all features to create high-performance 2D games for mobile devices in a true multi-platform environment, including fast 2D blitting operations. Licensing price is $150 for first and subsequent years.

EDGELIB Standard consists of everything the Lite edition offers, but adds networking features for Bluetooth and TCP/IP, additional image loaders, pixel precise collision detection, the extended blitlet set and much more. Also included is support by e-mail from the actual developers. Licensing prices are $450 for the first year and $350 for subsequent years.

EDGELIB Full includes all features, including hardware accelerated 3D graphics using OpenGL ES, advanced 3D operations, RGBA surfaces, all supported image loaders, the complete set of optimized blitlets and full support by e-mail and instant messaging from the actual developers. Licensing prices are $950 for the first year and $650 for subsequent years.

All supported target platforms are included in all three editions to emphasize the cross-platform character of the engine. The evaluation version of EDGELIB for non-commercial use is unrestricted and includes all features just as the Full edition.

A complete overview of differences between the editions can be found in the EDGELIB edition comparison chart at http://www.edgelib.com. If you have questions or comments about the new EDGELIB editions, please use the contact form at http://www.edgelib.com.

The EDGELIB SDK supports the development of mobile applications and games for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Symbian Series 60, Series 80, Series 90, Symbian UIQ, Gamepark Holdings GP2X and Windows desktop. Key features include true multi-platform development, high-performance 2D graphics, hardware accelerated 3D graphics through OpenGL ES, RGBA surfaces and both Bluetooth and TCP/IP networking.
